Creators for Democracy is the inaugural civic festival connecting creators of all kinds with public libraries as democratic infrastructure — timed to America's 250th anniversary.
Creators for Democracy is a free, two-day civic festival presented by Bold Impact and DC Public Library at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, DC on July 1–2, 2026. The festival spotlights DC-based creators across podcasting, photography, food writing, music, comedy, fashion, fitness, and visual storytelling as civic leaders — and celebrates the public library as the civic infrastructure it has always been.
The festival is timed to America's 250th anniversary and features a curated cohort of twelve DC-based creators, evening podcast programming, live music, a creator marketplace, and a StoryCorps activation with archival partnership through the Library of Congress. Substack is a founding festival partner.
Creators for Democracy is the first event in a planned national expansion to ten cities. It is a project of Bold Impact, directed by founder Sabrina Hersi Issa, and presented in partnership with DC Public Library. Spokespeople are available for pre-event and event coverage. We respond to all media inquiries within 48 hours.
We welcome press inquiries, interview requests, and partnership conversations. Please include your outlet, publication date, and angle in your initial inquiry.
